Ένα από τα ομορφότερα παραδοσιακά χωριά του νομού Φωκίδας, η Στρώμη βρίσκεται 48 χιλιόμετρα βορειοδυτικά της Άμφισσας στις βόρειες παρυφές του όρους Γκιώνα, σε υψόμετρο 900 μέτρων. Υπάγεται διοικητικά στο δήμο Καλλιέων. Λίγο πριν την είσοδο στο χωριό συναντάμε το μικρό αλλά βουερό καταρράχτη της Κρέμασης, ο οποίος καταλήγει στον ποταμό Μόρνο. Ανάμεσα στα έλατα της Γκιώνας περιδιαβαίνουμε σε γραφικά δρομάκια και πετρόκτιστα παραδοσιακά σπίτια, και συναντάμε μια πανέμορφη πλατεία με πλατάνια και θέα στο ορεινό τοπίο που διασχίζει ο ποταμός. Ακολουθώντας το δασικό δρόμο, που ξεκινάει από το χωριό προς τα υψίπεδα της Γκιώνας, βρίσκουμε την σπηλιά των “Εγγλέζων” ή σπηλιά της “Αντίστασης“, καθώς εκεί Άγγλοι αξιωματικοί συναντούσαν την περίοδο της Κατοχής αντάρτες του ΕΛΑΣ. Σε αυτή τη σπηλιά το φθινόπωρο του ’42 βρήκαν καταφύγιο Βρετανοί και Έλληνες σαμποτέρ για να καταστρώσουν το σχέδιο ανατίναξης της γέφυρας του Γοργοπόταμου.
